We're very excited to be able to announce that we are launching a new project in partnership with Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation to develop a community garden in Skinningrove just outside the community hub. This is a beautiful piece of land which has been left unattended for a little while and is now abundant with wildflowers and weeds. Our plan is to tidy it up, keeping as many of the wildflowers as space will allow, and use it as a training facility. Much like our Kirkleatham site, the Skinningrove community garden will become a space where volunteers can learn how to grow their own food using natural methods and nurturing the planet as they work.
Although the site is quite small it has two poly tunnels, many raised beds and a lovely little pond, where we noticed a fish has managed to thrive! We're really looking forward to getting stuck in and making the site a beautiful, useful and educational place that will bring the community together in learning skills that will last a lifetime. If you're interested in helping us with our new project, please get in touch, we'd love to have you on board.
